Lombard Culture
|
Each year during May, the Lilacia Park, an 8.5 acre park is fragrant with flowering lilac bushes, 75 thousand tulips and other spring flowering plants. During the summer, the "Taste of Lombard" attracts thousands of visitors. A fourth of July fireworks extravaganza is part of the celebration. Winter events included the lighting of a holiday tree in downtown Lombard. The Lombard Park District holds a holiday light festival at Lilacia Park and the Lombard Historical Museum offers Victorian celebration with Season events and musical events.

Lombard History
|
In the mid-1930's, the early settlers was attracted to Babcock's Grove (now it is call Lombard) because of it rich farmland. More settlers came after the railroad expanded westward from Chicago.

Lombard Recreation

 Lombard Park District has about 450 acres of land, including the popular 8.5 acre of horticultural showcase of Lilacia Park. The park contain 200 varieties of lilacs, and 50 varieties of tulips that blooms every year.
The Moran Water park, completed in 1990, has two 210 ft. water slides, a zero depth pool, a diving well, lap pool and sand play area, sand volleyball courts, locker rooms and concession area. The Western Acres Golf Course has 9-hole, and par 35 golf course that is over 3,000 yards long.

Lombard is located near the City of Chicago. It is a short distant from many major expressways and roadways. Lombard is about 30 minutes drive from Chicago's O'Hare airport.
